Our History

My son, Aaron is now a Webelo, and is in the 3rd year of Pinewood Derby™ Racing.  The first year, we failed miserably, utter defeat!  We did not have a clue that the sport was that competitive, we winged a car together, and I think 2-3 turtles passed on a few runs.  Our 2nd year was better, we placed 10th out of 65 kids.  All  the while, we purchase over 15 cars made by so called "experts", different designs, weight placements, aerodynamics, etc.  All of which, was faster than what we had at the time.  We came up with a design, originated by CAD, then the prototype stage, these initial designs were even wind tunnel tested.  Even as the design changed, the air flow and disruption over the car, did not factor into the speed very much, it all came down to locating the EXACT center of mass of the design itself, and strategically positioning weights to take advantage of this position.  The cars are CNC'd and Panagraphed.  Every fine detail, radius, pocket depth, with, angle, etc is identical from block to block.  The variance in time comes with the wheels and positioning of the axles, etc, this is why we chose to post actual results for you to see.  Why are we doing this?  We have built over 60 cars to lock into the "Rocket Design", all of which, have been tested.  Now that we have a car that is faster than the pack champion by time, and a full second faster (that's about 12"-14" faster down the track) that is repeatable, we want to offer it out  to others!  Keep in mind I spent a fortune on all the testing, and purchases on the "Claimed Derby Builder Masters" off the internet, ebay, etc.  All of which are ok cars, but actual time was not significantly faster than what we produced.  So, we we took the design and now having it professionally machined.  If you are at all like I am, or in the same situation, where, you want your scout to do well and not be disappointed on race day, due to lack of knowledge, time, etc., We are offering the perfect solution.  If you are searching the net for a fast car, you may recognize some of the cars that have been tested against ours.  They are the same cars that you will find on ebay, or other derby websites.  However, our cars are typically priced higher, our costs are higher!  Just look at the pictures and the quality.  You can pay anywhere from $50-$100 for a car that goes down the track and fairs well, but typically will not take home the trophy, or you can get proven results, just look at the videos!
